Activities were at the proposed location of Workers Memorial Commons, a centrally-located perpetual memorial dedicated to all workers that have been killed or injured on the job. The Memorial’s design includes a section of I-beam recovered from World Trade Center, Tower One.

Miners' Memorial Service
In Special Remembrance and Loving Memory of our Fallen Brothers

An annual service in memory for thirteen brave coal miners that lost their lives September 23, 2001 at Jim Walter Resources, Inc. No. 5 Mine.

The memorial was dedicated September 23, 2002 and was sponsored by Jim Walter Resources, Inc. United Mine Workers of America District 20 & Local 2368 and Brookwood High School
